Our History
AFI’s identity and culture have changed over the years since it opened its doors in 2015. The concept of AFI was a combination of need and vision. AFI began by providing alternative fuel conversions for customers and fleets from two stalls in the back of a body shop and one office.
In 2016, AFI expanded beyond alternative fuels into van interiors and truck equipment. By 2017, the company had grown to six employees and moved into a 22,000 square foot facility. Its offerings expanded to include service bodies, flatbeds, lift gates, and other larger equipment. AFI also achieved Ford QVM status and secured ship-thru capabilities for Ford and GM vehicles.
In 2020, AFI was recognized as the 41st Fastest Growing Company in Kansas City. Growth continued, and in 2021 AFI relocated to a 55,000 square foot facility and was recognized as Kansas City’s 20th Fastest Growing Company. That growth reflects strong client partnerships and continued investment in AFI’s people and culture.
